One way or another, maybe ten years ago, everything blew up, and the good guys lost. Smash Academy's finest were scattered to the winds, across the wasteland that was once Final Destination. Subspace still ripples in long jagged tears across the sky, and the monsters that breached the dimensions still wander the ruins of a city and the surrounding wilderness. Society has collapsed and clashes between factions are commonplace--some for territory and supplies, others for the establishment of order.

Mostly a lot of people are dead and it's really sad.
